Specialty Video Profile
Meet Farzana Hussain, a 36 year old mother of two and General Practitioner working in Newham.
Speaking specially to Career Diagnosis, Farzana told us "I qualifed from the University of Wales College of medicine in 1997 and completed all my GP training in Newham, East London. I have worked here ever since.
I enjoy the variety of being a GP and providing holistic, friendly, family practice care. I love working in the vibrant and ethnically diverse East end. The key to good general practice, I believe, is to listen to what the patient has to say, the answer is usually in there if you listen out for it! I enjoy teamworking as a GP and every 2 years the practice goes on a 2 day away day. We have been to Prague and Rome! We didn't just sightsee but learnt about primary care in these countries too! I enjoy teaching and watching the progress that is made by learners over the year.
My most embarrassing moment was when I had to run away from my desk in my consulting room while talking to a patient because a wasp came in through the window! I am terrified of them!"
Here Farzana shares her insights about what it is like to be in General Practice. Click on the links below to access the videos of Farzana. These videos require Quicktime
